Tax Planning

Albert Einstein once remarked that, “the hardest thing in the world to understand is the income tax.”  Of all the different facets of a person’s financial life, none has created more headaches, confusion, and worry than the subject of income taxes.  Yet, comprehensive tax planning is the cornerstone of sound financial planning.

Income taxes have far-reaching implications into our personal lives—from where we live, to how we invest our money, save for retirement, and educate our children.  It would not be far off to say that our financial lives begin and end with taxes.

Gary A. Dossick & Associates, Inc. has been in the income tax preparation and consultation business for over twenty years and has extensive experience in handling tax issues for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts and estates.  In working with clients, we emphasize effective tax planning to reduce year-end tax liabilities.  For us, this means keeping abreast of changing tax legislation to take advantage of potential tax-savings strategies.

The introduction of the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 ushered in the largest changes in the US tax code in two decades.  Many of the changes to the tax code have been phased in gradually over the last few years.  Additionally, many of the changes enacted have “sunset” provisions that will expire in 2010.

To keep up with the ever-changing puzzle of tax laws and regulations, the importance of having a trusted tax advisor cannot be overstated.  There are simply too many aspects involved in tax planning to leave it to yourself.  Mistakes, oversights, and poor judgment can cost a lot, not only in dollars, but in peace of mind.

As part of our comprehensive services, we offer tax preparation as well as tax planning throughout the year to our investment clients.  We are registered representatives with the I.R.S.   In the event of an audit, we provide support and representation throughout the entire audit process.

We pride ourselves in our years of successfully serving clients, many of whom have been with us for a long time.  Our clients know that when they have questions about their taxes we are there to assist them.

We invite you to contact us for a free, one-hour consultation concerning your tax situation as well as the health of your investment portfolio.
